Alicia Hickey

I am a Chicago based photographer who loves capturing people, their life moments, and the interesting places and backstories they come from. I was born and raised in Nahant, Massachusetts, a quaint, close-knit beach town just north of Boston and spent every summer and holiday in the Florida Keys.  Growing up in these unique and scenic parts of the East Coast, I always loved capturing the beauty in them.

My love for photography began in high school while taking photography classes and often found myself in the dark room during study hall and after school. Although I went on to pursue a bachelor's and master’s degree in economics and a career in finance, my love for photography as an art always remained and knew I would come back to it.

Fast-forward 12 years, after much travel, meeting new people, and thousands of iPhone photos later, my desire to take photography to a professional level resurfaced. I wanted to share the way I saw special life moments through a lens, so, I bought myself a SonyA6000 camera and started taking classes at Richard Stromberg’s School of Photography. Since then, I have photographed newborns, families, lifestyle portraits and landscapes from all over the world. I look forward to continuing this journey of learning new ways to capture these moments and help tell your story!
